The BCMOS summer season focuses on "Day Hikes" and weekend "Theme Hikes." Normally, these will be about two to four hours in length and take hikers to various locations throughout the Lower Mainland.

Day Hikes could be treks into the local mountains or secluded beaches, they might be to fishing bars on the Fraser River or into the many parks that surround Vancouver. Theme Hikes focus on an activity, such as bird watching or orienteering. They might explore places of interest such as the Seymour Demonstration Forest or Minter Gardens.

In planning each year's outings, much of the destination planning will be up to participants. Everyone is welcome to contact our offices and suggest a location. BCMOS staff will make the arrangements, coordinating equipment and sherpas.

As we have in the past, BCMOS will continue to offer hiking at Pacific Spirit Regional Park (off 16th Avenue, just west of Blanca Street) at UBC on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Again, contact our hiking office to make arrangements.
