Type: Hurley 22 Name: Inchlonaig Date received: Aug 30, 2002 Date sold: Feb 11, 2003
View Picture Donor: Owen Kennedy, Nanaimo,
BC
General Description:
Inchlonaig was built in 1976. It comes from a make of yacht that
was an instant hit the moment production began. Quite aside from
her pretty lines -she looks like a 'proper yacht' - solidly built
and a good performer. From the outset the Hurley 22 was intended
to be raced as well as cruised. The unlikely combination of a
long keel and a small spade rudder proved surprisingly effective,
and former Hurley owners speak fondly of the little boat's performance
and sea kindliness. The boats have proved themselves on long cruises;
several 22s have crossed the Atlantic, and at least one has cruised
the Pacific.

General Description:
Stella is a 1979 production model J24 with a balsa cored, glass

to the transom.
More than 5,200 J24s are currently sailing worldwide.
The boats were built under strict one-design class rules which
allow very little deviation in the construction of the boat. Each
boat is built to exacting specifications, with strong and lasting
construction scantlings that allow J24's to remain highly competitive
year after year. The majority of J24's racing now are over fifteen
years old. J24s have been featured in a variety of regattas around
the world: from the North American and Pan American championships
to the European and Asia Pacific championships.
